Bourgogne Pinot Noir
Réserve du Bastion 2021
Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Clay and limestone from the Jurassic with a soil texture more or less deep depending on the plots.
Site : Grapes are exclusively sourced from selected vineyards in the Côte de Nuits and from Terroirs located in the south of the Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise.
The Vintage 2021 : After a winter characterized by marked variations in temperature and a summer like weather spring, A sudden and intense frost fell upon Burgundy early April and severely hit the buds that had formed on the vine. The months that followed were a succesion of rainy and warm episodes. During summer there were warm and humid periods and the harvest started at Chanson on September 15, under a bright sunshine. The red wines have a good colour. They give off floral fragrances and a beautiful fruit expression but the volumes produced are quite low.
Tasting : Bright red colour. Scents of peony mixed with crunchy aromas of ripe red fruit on a hint of spice. Complex and straightforward. Very pure fruit expression. Generous wih a supple texture and well-integrated tannins. Long aftertaste with spicy nuances.
Food pairing : Super classic Burgundy, ideal with braised and roasted meats, as well as meat-sauced pastas and regional cheeses (Comté, Epoisses, Citeaux)
