Vosne-Romanée 2006
Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Clay, limestone and silica
Site : Village located between Vougeot and Nuits Saint Georges which produces some of the most prestigious wines of the Côte de Nuits.
The Vintage 2006 : The weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. However, the sun appeared at the end of August and continued throughout September. The harvest commenced in mid-September in perfect conditions. Careful selection of grapes in the vineyard and winery have produced beautiful wines with very pure aromas. Aged in French oak for 12 months.
Tasting : Bright red colour. Very fresh aromas of cherries and liquorice on a hint of vanilla. Generous, well-balanced. Beautiful texture. Well-integrated tannins. Elegant oak note. Beautiful aftertaste.
Food pairing : Game (pheasant), poultry and all the classic cheeses (Epoisses, Langres, Citeaux).
