Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Limestone mixed with clay
Site : The vineyard is located on the hill of the commune of Santenay, a small village South of the Côte de Beaune, near Chassagne Montrachet.
The Vintage 2008 : After a beautiful spring, the weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. It became fine again from the end of August with much sun and a cold wind, which aided concentration of flavours. The harvest commenced in mid-September in perfect conditions under an Indian summer. Aging in oak during 15 months
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Aromas of red berries (cherries and raspberry) mixed with chocolate and enhanced by a hint of vanilla. Complex and well-balanced. Beautiful texture. Refined tannins and delicate oak note. Long aftertaste.
Food pairing : To be enjoyed with roast meat or meat en sauce, games and most cheeses (especially Citeaux, Epoisses, Langres).
