Saint-Véran 2005
Grape Variety : Chardonnay
Soil : Clay and limestone
Site : The Saint Véran vineyards are located in the very South of the Maconnais area on the communes of Saint Vérand, Chânes, Chasselas, Leynes, Prissé and Davayé.
The Vintage 2005 : Exceptional after a superb growing season - cold winter, rainy spring followed by hot and dry summer. Grapes picked at optimum ripeness and in perfect health, hence a minimum sorting was required.
Tasting : Pale gold colour with green nuances. Intense aromas of exotic fruit and green almond enhanced by a good minerality. Well-balanced and well-structured. Beautiful aromatic combination. Good minerality and long finish.
Food pairing : Charcuteries, sea-food, fish, snails as well as some goat cheeses.
