Puligny-Montrachet 2015
Grape Variety : Chardonnay
Soil : Clay and limestone
Site : In the south of the Côte de Beaune, the terroirs of Puligny-Montrachet produce some of the greatest white Burgundies, including the famous Grand Cu Montrachet. The grapes vinified by Chanson are sourced from excellent plots of vineyards on mid-slope.
The Vintage 2015 : After a cold winter and a mild spring, the weather conditions in summer (with important differences of temperature between day and night from August onwards) were ideal and enabled a perfect maturation of the grapes. The harvest started early September under a bright sunshine. The white wines develop aromas of exotic fruit mixed with floral fragrances. Aging in oak casks during 11 months.
Tasting : Pale gold colour. Delicate floral fragrances mixed with aromas of citrus fruit and pale flesh fruit on a hint of minerality. Well structured and complex. Good intensity. Precise and refined on a delicate oak note. Long and mineral finish.
Food pairing : Seafood, fish, mild cheeses as well as certain goat cheeses.
