Puligny-Montrachet 2009
Grape Variety : Chardonnay
Soil : Clay and limestone
Site : In the south of the Côte de Beaune, the terroirs of Puligny Montrachet produces some of the greatest white Burgundies, including the famous Grand Cu Montrachet. The grapes vinified by Chanson are sourced from excellent plots of vineyards on mid-slope.
The Vintage 2009 : After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions. Aging in oak during 12 months.
Tasting : Gold colour. Delicate floral fragrances mixed with exotic fruit aromas on a hint of vanilla note. Well structured. Very fine texture. Subtle minerality. Delicate oak note. Long and generous aftertaste.
Food pairing : Seafood, fish, mild cheeses as well as certain goat cheeses.
