Puligny Montrachet 2003

Puligny-Montrachet 2003

Grape Variety : Chardonnay

Soil : Clay and limestone

Site : In the south of the Côte de Beaune, the terroirs of Puligny Montrachet produces some of the greatest white Burgundies, including the famous Grand Cu Montrachet. The grapes vinified by Chanson are sourced from excellent plots of vineyards on mid-slope.

The Vintage 2003 : Exceptional due to a warm summer which incited an early harvest before the end of august. Low yields. Outstanding concentration and fully matured during the harvest.

Tasting : Pale gold colour with emerald tinges. Fragrances of white flowers mixed with aromas of ripe pale fleshed fruit (peach), mixed with almond and enhanced by a beautiful vanilla touch. Elegant and appealing. Good aromatic complexity. Round, well-structured and generous with a long aftertaste.

Food pairing : Seafood, fish, mild cheeses as well as certain goat cheeses.
