Grape Variety : Chardonnay
Soil : Clay and limestone
Site : South of Burgundy, in the heart of the Mâconnais region, the area of production is located on the villages of Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly, Vergisson and Chaintré.
The Vintage 2003 : An exceptionnally early harvest end of August due to an unusual hot summer. Grapes were extremely well mature with high concentration. Very low yields.
Tasting : Bright gold colour. Aromas of ripe pale fleshed fruit (pear, apricot) and toasted bread mixed with a touch of vanilla. Appealing, generous and well-balanced. Beautiful aromatic combination. Long finish.
Food pairing : Fish, cooked pork meat, "charcuteries" ("jambon persillé"), white meat and some goat cheeses
