Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Marly limestone - rough limestone with silt of clay
Site : Chanson owns a vineyard of 5.4 hectares in premier Cru "Les Vergelesses". One of the plots of this vineyard has been selected to produce this Pernand-Vergelesses village.
The Vintage 2007 : If there is a vintage in which Pinot Noir most fully expresses itself, it is in 2007. The dry North wined which prevailed in September gave rise to an exceptional phenolic ripeness, a deep purple colour, beautiful crunchy flesh and an explosion of red fruits marvelously combined with the minerality of the terroirs. Aged in French oak during 15 months.
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of violet mixed with red berries on a hint of chocolate. Delicate note. Well balanced and well-structured. Tight texture. Fine grained tannins. Delicate oak note. Long and silky aftertaste.
Food pairing : To be enjoyed with red or white meat, grilled or toasted, games or classic cheeses like goat.
