Pernand-Vergelesses Les Vergelesses
1er Cru
2015
Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Clay and limestone
Site : Chanson owns a vineyard of 5.4 hectares in premier Cru "Les Vergelesses". The plot is located in a hollow at the bottom of the hill of Corton and its clay and limestone soil combination gives wines with a specific structure.
The Vintage 2015 : After a cold winter and a mild spring, the weather conditions in Summer were ideal with cold nights and warm days and enabled a perfect maturation of the grapes. The harvest took place mid September under a bright sunshine. The red wines develop beautiful aromas of ripe red and black berries with a fleshy texture. Aging in oak casks during 15 months.
Tasting : Dark ruby. Intense aromas of black chocolate mixed with a hint of mint. Dense, onctuous. Ripe and spicy tannins. Outstanding finish. Great aging potential. SCORES : 92/100 - WINE SPECTATOR - July 2017 // 90-92 - BURGHOUND - April 2017 // 16.5/20 - JANCIS ROBINSON - Dec. 2016
Food pairing : Enjoy with grilled steack and a wide selection of French cheeses, in particular Brie.
