Pernand-Vergelesses Les Vergelesses
1er Cru
2002

Grape Variety : Pinot Noir

Soil : Limestone with cay

Site : South of the hill of Corton Chanson owns a vineyard of 5.4 hectares in "Les Vergelesses", the most famous Premier Cru in Pernand which has given its name to the village.

The Vintage 2002 : The harvest took place at the end of September, several days after the official beginning of the harvest in order to obtain the best possible maturation of the berries. Excellent weather conditions prevailed in August and September and hence the good quality of the grapes. A severe pruning had been carried out in July 2002 to limit yields. Aging in oak casks during 18 months.

Tasting : Ruby red with purple tinges. Forthcoming aromas of red berries supported by well integrated oak nuances. The wine has a good smooth , ripe and seductive fruit. It is forthcoming and well-balanced.

Food pairing : Enjoy with grilled steak and a wide selection of French cheeses, in particular Brie.
