Pernand-Vergelesses Chardonnay 2001
Grape Variety : Chardonnay
Soil : Clay and limestone
Site : In the Northern part of the Côte de Beaune, in the commune of Pernand Vergelesses.
The Vintage 2001 : Harvest took place at the end of September after a late Summer. It was as a whole homogeneous but the "tri", sorting of the grapes was drastic to keep only the very ripe berries.
Tasting : Pale gold colour. Aromas of fresh fruit mixed with almond on a subtle spiciness. Good grip. Beautiful fruit combination enhanced by an elegant vanilla note. Well-balanced, generous, mellow. Long finish.
Food pairing : Seafood, grilled fish, as well as some goat cheeses.
