Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Porets Saint-Georges
1er Cru
2008
Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Clay and limestone
Site : The area of production of the Nuits Saint Georges Premiers Crus is split up into two areas : North and South of the Commune of Nuits Saint Georges. This Premier Cru les Porets Saint Georges is located South of Nuits Saint Georges in the very heart of the Premiers Crus, where the structure of the soil is light and produces wines which are at the same time supple and generous. The plot selected is particularly well-situated with an East exposure.
The Vintage 2008 : After a beautiful spring, the weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. It became fine again from the end of August with much sun and a cold wind, which aided concentration of flavours. The harvest commenced in mid-September in perfect conditions under an Indian summer. Aging in oak during 16 months
Tasting : Dark ruby colour. Aromas of ripe dark berries mixed with spices and chocolate. Subtle vanilla note. Generous, complex and dense. Beautiful texture. Very pure fruit. The tannins are firm with a lot of style. Elegant oak note. Long aftertaste.
Food pairing : It is perfectly matched with red meat grilled or en sauce and all cheeses, especially the local cheeses like Epoisses or Citeaux.
