Moulin-à-Vent 2010
Grape Variety : Gamay
Soil : Granite
Site : One of the most famous crus of the Beaujolais. The area of production is located in the southern part of the villages of Chenas in the Saône & Loire Department and in Romanèche Thorins in the Rhône Department. The vineyards are on the sides of a hill overlooked by a windmill, hence the name of the wine.
The Vintage 2010 : After a very cold winter and a demanding spring, the hot summer was regularly interrupted by cold and rainy intervals which early September gave way to a bright and warm weather, that speeded up the maturation of the grapes. Harvest began in the last days of September under a bright sunshine.
Tasting : Bright red colour with purple nuances. Intense aromas of cherries mixed with spices and toasted bread. Well-structured. Very pure fruit aromas . Well integrated tannins. Good persistence.
Food pairing : Cooked pork meat "charcuterie", barbecue and all sorts of mild cheeses.
