Monthélie 2005
Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Clay and limestone
Site : This vineyard is located at the border of the Premier Cru vineyards of this little village, nested between between Volnay and Meursault
The Vintage 2005 : Harvest took place in the early days of September after a dry and very hot summer after a superb growing season - long and cold winter followed by a rainy and humid spring. Exceptional weather conditions for an exceptional vintage. Full maturation of the grapes and good concentration. Aging in oak cask during 15 months
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of red fruit (cherry) with a hint of chocolate and a delicate vanilla note. Concentrated, well-crafted and generous. Beautiful fruit combination enhanced by an elegant oak note and well-defined tannins. Long aftertaste.
Food pairing : To be enjoyed with red meat grilled or en sauce and French cheeses (Epoisses, Citeaux or goat).
