Mercurey 2008
Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Mix of clay and limestone
Site : In the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, South of Côte de Beaune, the vineyards of Mercurey are mainly planted with Pinot Noir. Located mid slope, facing South-East.
The Vintage 2008 : After a beautiful spring, the weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. It became fine again from the end of August with much sun and a cold wind, which aided concentration of flavours. The harvest commenced in mid-September in perfect conditions under an Indian summer.
Tasting : Beautiful ruby colour. Intense aromas of red berries (raspberry and red berry) mixed with spicy nuances. Concentrated and generous. Beautiful tannic structure with a long and refreshing aftertaste.
Food pairing : Enjoy with red or white meat, and a wide variety of French cheeses.
