Mercurey 2004
Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Mix of clay and limestone
Site : In the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, South of Côte de Beaune, the vineyards of Mercurey are mainly planted with Pinot Noir. Located mid slope, facing South-East.
The Vintage 2004 : Harvest took place at the end of September after a cool and humid Summer with short periods of very hot weather. The "tri", sorting of the grapes was drastic to keep only the very ripe berries.
Tasting : Ruby with purple tinges on the rim. Pungent bouquet of red berries mixed with an array of spices. Full-bodied, well-balanced with a well-shaped tannic structure.
Food pairing : Enjoy with red or white meat, and a wide variety of French cheeses.
