Marsannay 2009

Marsannay 2009

Grape Variety : Pinot Noir

Soil : Clay and limestone

Site : This village is located in the northern part of the Côte de Nuits in a short distance of Dijon, the regional capital.

The Vintage 2009 : After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions. The red wines are dark coloured with aromas of ripe black berries, token of a great ageing potential.

Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Aromas of red berries and liquorice mixed with spices and delicate notes of coffee. Generous and complex. Very pure fruit. Well integrated tannins and a refreshing fruity aftertaste.

Food pairing : Enjoy with red or white meat, game, cheeses, especially the local cheeses like Epoisses or Citeaux.
