Mâcon La Roche Vineuse 2016

Mâcon-La Roche Vineuse 2016

Grape Variety : Chardonnay

Soil : Clay and limestone

Site : Roche Vineuse is a small terroir located in the Saône et Loire Department, in the villages of la Roche Vineuse, Hurigny and Chevagny-les-Chevrieres, in the vicinity of the famous cliffs of Solutré and Vergisson.

The Vintage 2016 : After a cool and rainy winter and a frost episode in April, the weather at the end of spring was warmer but rainy which engendered a late flowering. The summer was warm and dry. September was warm and the harvest took place mid september under a bright sunshine. The white wines are precise and taut and develop very pure aromas.

Tasting : Pale gold colour. Delicate floral fragrances mixed with citrus fruit and apple aromas on a hint of minerality. Well-balanced and crisp on a well-integrated minerality. Long and precise finish.

Food pairing : Poultry, grilled fish and goat cheese.
