Mâcon-La Roche Vineuse 2011
Grape Variety : Chardonnay
Soil : Clay and limestone
Site : The production area is located in the South of the Mâconnais, on the hillsides near the famous rocks of Solutré and Vergisson.
The Vintage 2011 : After a very cold winter and a very warm spring, the weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. It became fine again at the end of August. The harvest started mid-September in perfect conditions under an Indian summer. Careful selection of grapes in the vineyard and winery has produced very pure white wines, well-balanced with fantastic acidity.
Tasting : Pale gold colour. Notes of orange blossom mixed with aromas of lemon and yellow fruits (pear, white peach) enhanced by subtle mineralilty. Generous, well-balanced and onctuous with a good density. Long and citrussy aftertaste .
Food pairing : Poultry, grilled fish and goat cheese.
