Givry 2008
Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Mix of limestone and clay
Site : Givry is one of the most famous village in the heart of Côte chalonnaise in the Southern part of Burgundy
The Vintage 2008 : After a beautiful spring, the weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. It became fine again from the end of August with much sun and a cold wind, which aided concentration of flavours. The harvest commenced in mid-September in perfect conditions under an Indian summer.
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense and refreshing aromas of red-berries mixed with liquorice and a hint of spices. Well-balanced and well-structured. Very pure fruit supported by a delicate acidity. Refreshing and generous aftertaste.
Food pairing : Cooked pork meats, pâté, pie, grilled or roasted meat, fowls and "fromages à pâte pressée".
