Givry 2006
Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Mix of limestone and clay
Site : Givry is one of the most famous village in the heart of Côte chalonnaise in the Southern part of Burgundy
The Vintage 2006 : The weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. However, the sun appeared at the end of August and continued throughout September. The harvest commenced in mid-September in perfect conditions. Careful selection of grapes in the vineyard and winery have produced beautiful wines with very pure aromas.
Tasting : Bright ruby colour with purple nuances. Aromas of violet and red-berry mixed with a touch of pepper. Concentrated, generous and well-structured. Very refreshing, aromatic and spicy. Well-shaped tannins. Good persistence.
Food pairing : Cooked pork meats, pâté, pie, grilled or roasted meat, fowls and "fromages à pâte pressée".
