Gevrey Chambertin 2004

Gevrey-Chambertin 2004

Grape Variety : Pinot Noir

Soil : Mix of Clay and limestone

Site : Gevrey Chambertin is located in the "Côte de Nuits". The grapes stem from a selected plot in the northern part of Appellation "Gevrey Chambertin" located on a mid slope and bordering the Premiers Crus. The grapes are sourced from a partner winegrower. Picking of the grapes by our teams.

The Vintage 2004 : Harvest took place at the end of September after a cool and humid Summer with short periods of very hot weather. The "tri", sorting of the grapes was drastic to keep only the very ripe berries. Aging in oak during 14 months.

Tasting : Dark ruby colour. Intense aromas of red berries with a hint of chocolate and a beautiful vanilla note. Well-balanced and well-structured, fleshy and ample. Beautiful aromatic combination enhanced by an elegant oak note and tannins with no sharp edge. Good persistence.

Food pairing : Game (pheasant), poultry and all the classic cheeses (Epoisses, Langres).
