Fleurie 2014
Grape Variety : Gamay
Soil : Granite and sand
Site : In the very heart of the Beaujolais, in the village of Fleurie with which Chanson has very close connections. The grapes are issued from 2 specific plots "Champagne" and "Les Deux Rivières", ideally oriented South and which are considered as some of the best plots of the village.
The Vintage 2014 : After a cool and rainy winter and a frost episode in April, the warm and dry weather in spring was perfect for the flowering. In July and August the weather was more demanding but it became fine again early September with a true Indian summer which enabled a perfect maturation for the grapes. The harvest took place mid September under a bright sunshine. The red wines give off beautiful aromas of ripe red berries with a sappy texture.
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of ripe cherries mixed with spices. Crisp attack. Well-balanced with a beautiful fruit combination. Long and refreshing aftertaste with spicy nuances.
Food pairing : Cooked pork meat "Charcuterie", barbecues and all sorts of mild cheeses.
