Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Limestone with clay
Site : Selected plots of vineyards in Côte de Beaune villages, mostly Pernand-Vergelesses, Auxey-Duresses and Ladoix.
The Vintage 2014 : After a cool and rainy winter and a frost episode in April, the warm and dry weather in spring was perfect for the flowering. In July and August the weather was more demanding but it became fine again early September with a true Indian summer which enabled a perfect maturation for the grapes. The harvest took place mid September under a bright sunshine. Aging in oak casks during 16 months. Moderate use of new oak.
Tasting : Bright ruby. Intense aromas of ripe red fruit (cherries ) mixed with spices on a hint of vanilla. Well-balanced and well-structured. Well-integrated tannins. Long after-taste.
Food pairing : To be enjoyed with warm starters, white meat, matured cheeses.
