Côte de Beaune Villages 2003
Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Limestone with clay
Site : Selected plots of vineyards in Côte de Beaune villages, mostly Pernand-Vergelesses, Auxey-Duresses and Ladoix.
The Vintage 2003 : An exceptionally early harvest end of August due to an outstanding hot summer. Grapes were extremely well mature with high concentration. Very low yields. Grapes had to be cooled down before pressing.
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of red fruits (raspberry, cherry) mixed with chocolate enhanced by a delicate vanilla note. Well balanced and generous. Elegant tannic structure. Long aftertaste.
Food pairing : To be enjoyed with warm starters, white meat, matured cheeses.
