Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2006

Corton-Charlemagne
Grand Cru 2006

Grape Variety : Chardonnay

Soil : Clay and limestone

Site : In the very heart of the appellation, on the upper part of the hill of Corton above the villages of Pernand Vergelesses and Aloxe Corton

The Vintage 2006 : The weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. However, the sun appeared at the end of August and continued throughout September. The harvest commenced in mid-September in perfect conditions. Careful selection of grapes in the vineyard and winery have produced beautiful white wines with fantastic acidity. Aged in French oak for 10 months.

Tasting : Pale gold colour. Very pure floral fragrances (acacia) mixed with aromas of citrus fruit and vanilla enhanced by a beautiful minerality. Powerful and generous. Dense and well-structured. Well crafted aromatic combination supported by a a good acidity and a well-integrated minerality. Long aftertaste.

Food pairing : Seafood, “foie gras”, fish in a creamy sauce, crayfish. Particularly great with a selection of French cheeses.
