Beaune Clos des Mouches Chardonnay
1er Cru 2009

Grape Variety : Chardonnay

Soil : Stony soil of Limestone, clay and silica

Site : Chanson is one of the major owners of Clos des Mouches with a vineyard of 4.5 hectares. A sunny Terroir which benefits from an ideal location on the hill at the southern end of the vineyards of Beaune on a spur pointing toward Pommard . A plot of 2 hectares on the upper side of the hill is planted with Chardonnay on a limestone subsoil covered with sand.

The Vintage 2009 : After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions. Aging in oak during 13 months.

Tasting : Pale gold color. Smoky mineral citrus aromas. Subtle minerality and delicate oak note. Good grip. Well-structured and well-balanced and onctuous. Very fine aromas. Well-shaped acidity and delicate oak note. Refreshing finish. Burghound - July 2011 : Score 88-91

Food pairing : To be enjoyed with "foie gras", seafood and goat's cheese.
