Site : Chanson is one of the major owners of Clos des Mouches with a vineyard of 4.5 hectares. Ideal location on the hill at the southern end of the vineyards of Beaune on a spur pointing toward Pommard . A plot of 2 hectares on the upper side of the hill is planted with Chardonnay on a limestone subsoil covered with sand.
The Vintage 1999 : Ideal meteorological conditions. Pluviometry limited. Optimal harvests conditions and good grapes maturity.
Tasting : Beautiful gold colour. Intense aromas of exotic fruit and pale fleshed fruit (pear) mixed with toasted "Brioche" aromas enhanced by a beautiful vanilla note. Elegant, ample, generous and well balanced. Excellent aromatic combination, very harmonious. Outstanding persistence. Silver Medal Concours Général Agricole Paris 2001
Food pairing : To be enjoyed with "foie gras", seafood and goat's cheese.
