Beaune Clos des Fèves - Monopole
1er Cru
2009

Grape Variety : Pinot Noir

Soil : Clay and limestone

Site : A Chanson "monopole" in the very heart of the first Growths vineyards of Beaune. The vineyards covering 3.80 ha is located on a mid slope. The "Clos des Fèves" was already known in the 14th century under the latin word "Fae"

The Vintage 2009 : After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions. Aging in oak during 17 months.

Tasting : Bright ruby colour with purple nuances. Intense aromas of raspberry and black- berry mixed with spices and a beautiful vanilla note. Intense on the attack. Beautiful texture, dense and deep. Very pure fruit on fine grained tannins. Well-integrated oak-note. Delicate minerality. Generous finish.

Food pairing : Game (pheasant), poultry and all the classic cheeses (Epoisses, Langres).
