Beaune Clos des Fèves - Monopole
1er Cru
2006

Grape Variety : Pinot Noir

Soil : Clay and limestone

Site : A Chanson "monopole" in the very heart of the first Growths vineyards of Beaune. The vineyards covering 3.80 ha is located on a mid slope. The "Clos des Fèves" was already known in the 14th century under the latin word "Fae"

The Vintage 2006 : The weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. However, the sun appeared at the end of August and continued throughout September. The harvest commenced in mid-September in perfect conditions. Careful selection of grapes in the vineyard and winery have produced beautiful wines with very pure aromas. Aged in French oak for 15 months.

Tasting : Dark ruby colour. Very refreshing aromas of red berries mixed with tobacco and vanilla. Ample and well-structured. Dense with a tight structure. Well integrated oak note and elegant tannic structure. Good persistence.

Food pairing : Game (pheasant), poultry and all the classic cheeses (Epoisses, Langres).
