Site : A Chanson "monopole" in the very heart of the first Growths vineyards of Beaune. The vineyards covering 3.80 ha is located on a mid slope. The "Clos des Fèves" was already known in the 13th century under the latin word "Fae"
The Vintage 2002 : Harvested in the very last days of September. Good maturation of the berries and excellent quality of the grapes because of the very good weather conditions which prevailed in August and September. Limited yields after a severe pruning in July. Aging in oak casks during 18 months
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of red berries (raspberry and red berry and peony mixed with liquorice and enhanced by an elegant vanilla note. This wine, all in elegance and finesse, reveals itself in depth on a beautiful aromatic combination. Concentrated and well-balanced, this wine develops a beautiful silky structure as well as a good persistence.
Food pairing : Game (pheasant), poultry and all the classic cheeses (Epoisses, Langres).
