Clos de la belle Marguerite Côte de Nuits Villages 2019
Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Clay and limestone
Site : The plot « Clos de la Belle Marguerite » is located in the village of Brochon in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, on a spot called « Queue de Hareng », in the vicinity of the vineyards of Fixin. This plot had been offered by Philippe le Hardy Duke of Burgundy to Jacques de Crauzon who named it after his wife : Marguerite de Vergy.
The Vintage 2019 : After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions. Aging in oak during 15 months.
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of ripe red berries (raspberry) mixed with chocolate and spicy notes. Well-balanced and complex. Deep and tight texture. Elegant tannins. Beautiful fruit expression. Long and spicy finish.
Food pairing : Game, roasted meat and all the local cheeses.
