Soil : Limestone with clay, white marl and silica.
Site : The vineyards of "Clos Saint Jean" are located on mid slope immediately above the village of Chassagne-Montrachet. It ranks among the best Premiers Crus of this village.
The Vintage 1998 : Harvest took place at the end of September after a late Summer. It was as a whole homogeneous. Aging in cask during 12 months.
Tasting : Beautiful gold colour. Intense aromas of grilled almonds, exotic fruits (mango). Delicate, harmonious and well-structured. Good aromatic complexity. Elegant oak notes.
Food pairing : To be enjoyed with fish (salmon), seafood and some cheeses (especially goat cheeses).
