Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru 2003

Grand Cru 2003

Grape Variety : Pinot Noir

Soil : Clay and limestsone

Site : This climat "Charmes" is located on a mid slope facing east in the Southern part of the village of Gevrey Chambertin. One of its nearest neighbour is the famous of "Chambertin".

The Vintage 2003 : Exceptional due to a warm summer which incited an early harvest before the end of august. Low yields. Outstanding concentration and fully matured during the harvest. Aging in cask during 12 months

Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of cooked red fruit (cherry) and leather, coated with chocolate. Outstanding vanilla note. Ample, generous, well-structured and well-balanced, powerful with a good aromatic combination. Tannins are present but with no sharp bones. Good persistence.

Food pairing : It is perfectly matched with red meat grilled or en sauce and all cheeses, especially the local cheeses like Epoisses or Citeaux.
