Chablis Montée de Tonnerre
1er Cru 2011

Grape Variety : Chardonnay

Soil : Clay and limestone with pebbles.

Site : Chablis is in the Northern part of the Burgundy region. The "Premier Cru Montée de Tonnerre" is located North East of the village of Chablis in the vicinity of the Grands Crus. A particularly well-situated plot has been selected for this wine which ranks among the best Premiers Crus of Chablis.

The Vintage 2011 : After a very cold winter and a demanding spring, the hot summer was regularly interrupted by rainy intervals which early September gave way to a bright and warm weather, that speeded up the maturation of the grapes. Harvest began in the last days of September under a bright sunshine. Careful vinfications and aging have helped to tame the outstanding acidity of the Chardonnays. Aging in oak (demi-muids)

Tasting : Pale gold colour. Intense aromas of citrus fruit mixed with saline notes. Elegant and solid structure. Finelly grained and pure texture. Well integrated minerality. Persistant finish.

Food pairing : Pâté, lobsters and poultry as well as many goat cheeses.
