Chablis Montée de Tonnerre
1er Cru 2009

Grape Variety : Chardonnay

Soil : Clay and limestone with pebbles.

Site : Chablis is in the Northern part of the Burgundy region. The "Premier Cru Montée de Tonnerre" is located North East of the village of Chablis in the vicinity of the Grands Crus. A particularly well-situated plot has been selected for this wine which ranks among the best Premiers Crus of Chablis.

The Vintage 2009 : After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions. Aging in oak (demi-muids) during 11 months.

Tasting : Pale gold colour. Intense citrus fruit aromas mixed with honey. Complex with a firm bright citrus fruit. Tight minerality. Dense with a persistent aftertaste.

Food pairing : Pâté, lobsters and poultry as well as many goat cheeses.
