1er Cru 2006

Grape Variety : Chardonnay

Soil : Clay and limestone

Site : Chablis is in the Northern part of the Burgundy region. The "Premier Cru Montée de Tonnerre" is located North East of the village of Chablis in the vicinity of the Grands Crus. A particularly well-situated plot has been selected for this wine which ranks among the best Premiers Crus of Chablis.

The Vintage 2006 : The weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. However, the sun appeared at the end of August and continued throughout September. The harvest commenced in mid-September in perfect conditions. Careful selection of grapes in the vineyard and winery have produced beautiful wines with very pure aromas. Aged in French oak for 7 months.

Tasting : Pale gold colour. Rich floral fragrances mixed with crunchy green apple, vanilla and elegant mineral flavours. Well-crafted. Well-structured and well-balanced. Mineral notes. Long finish.

Food pairing : Pâté, lobsters and poultry as well as many goat cheeses.
