Chablis Premier Cru Montmains 2009

Chablis Montmains
1er Cru 2009

Grape Variety : Chardonnay

Soil : Limestone

Site : Chablis is in the Northern part of the Burgundy region. The "Premier Cru Montmains" is located South of the Commune of Chablis and is one of the more famous Premier Crus. Two particularly well-situated plots have been selected for the blend.

The Vintage 2009 : After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions. Aging in oak (demi-muids) during 9 months.

Tasting : Bright gold colour. Very pure aromas of citrus fruit and honey. Delicate vanilla note. Beautiful mineral expression. Tense and linear. Very pure fruit. Beautiful texture. Well-integrated minerality. Well-shaped acidity. Long aftertaste.

Food pairing : Pâté, seascallop, turbot, poularde in a creamy sauce as well as many goat cheeses.
