Chablis Les Clos
Grand Cru 2013

Grape Variety : Chardonnay

Soil : Limestone

Site : "Les Clos" is one of the most famous Grands Crus of Chablis. The area of production covers 24.75 ha. The vines selected by Chanson are ideally located right in the heart of the plot. The upper part of the plot brings the minerality and the lower part with alluvion deposits gives the rich character of this wine.

The Vintage 2013 : After a long winter and a gloomy spring, the summer was warm and sunny but with intervals of violent hail storms. The harvest took place in the last days of September under a bright sunshine. The difficult weather conditions at the beginning of the year and the hail storms have considerably impacted the yields in most of the wine regions but quality is there. The white wines are tense with citrus fruit aromas and a well-shaped acidity. Aging in oak during 9 months (demi-muids casks).

Tasting : Pale gold colour. Floral fragrances mixed with aromas of citrus fruit on a well-shaped minerality. Hints of vanilla. Excellent volume and power. Energetic. Precise on a well-shaped minerality and well-integrated acidity. Long finish that displays a hint of bitter lemon.

Food pairing : Foie gras, shellfish, fish, white meat as well as some goat cheeses.
