Beaujolais-Villages 2014
Grape Variety : Gamay
Soil : Granit
Site : The area of production covers 39 villages in the Northern part of the Beaujolais region. Among all those villages are the famous 10 "Crus" of the Beaujolais : Moulin à Vent, Chiroubles, Régnié, Chenas, Saint Amour, Fleurie, Morgon, Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly et Julienas.
The Vintage 2014 : After a cool and rainy winter and a frost episode in April, the warm and dry weather in spring was perfect for the flowering. In July and August the weather was more demanding but it became fine again early September with a true indian summer which enabled a perfect maturation for the grapes. The harvest took place mid september under a bright sunshine. The red wines give off beautiful aromas of ripe red berries with a sappy texture.
Tasting : Bright ruby colour with purple nuances. Intense aromas of fresh red berries mixed with liquorice. Supple and well-structured. Crunchy texture with a generous and refreshing fruit combination in the aftertaste mixed with spicy nuances.
Food pairing : Cooked pork meat "Charcuterie", regional meals and mild cheeses.
